Chiffon
Gossamer 5 momme (mm) chiffon is a light weight, soft, cool on the skin silk, with exceptional color pickup. It allows the creation of stunning colors in a scarf that is almost see-through sheer and floats on the slightest breeze. The slight texturing of the chiffon makes these scarves easy to tie, and once tied they stay put - a fashion asset. With this lighweight silk, the image shows very well on both sides of the silk.
These chiffon silk scarves are dry clean only by the manufacturer’s instructions. We have test washed by hand in cold water with delicate fabric detergent. The chiffon is color fast and the feel of the fabric is unchanged. However there is 3 to 4% shrinkage.
Habotai
Mid weight 8 momme (mm) habotai is the classic silk with an incredibly smooth hand, slight irridescence, and good drape. It is substantial, equally good worn as an accent, filling in the neckline of a jacket on a chilly day, or as a shawl. Because of the silk treatment, the image is good on both sides of the silk.
These habotai silk scarves are completely colorfast and are washable or dry cleanable. Please use cold water for washing and hand wash or use a delicate cycle with a lingerie bag. Dry out of the sun.
